in this day and age of heightened security when flying, I am increasingly being patted down over my ostomy site. It happens after raising my arms in the enhanced X ray machine. Is there anything available to help identify us as non threatening surgery survivors? I sure that there are enough of us Baby Boomers to justify some authentication that would minimize our potential for embarrassment

Hi Carol. Thanks for the comment, but sorry to hear you’re experiencing extra security measures. Our suggestion would be to print out a TSA Disability Notification Card (you can find a link to them in our post about traveling with an ostomy here). We hope that helps, and happy flying! -Aimee, Shield HealthCare
