Stress from caregiving is common. Caring for a person who has Alzheimer’s or other dementia can be particularly stressful, and it can take a toll on your physical and mental health. Alzheimer’s caregivers frequently report experiencing high levels of stress, which can have harmful health effects, including depression or anxiety.

Oftentimes the care you give to yourself takes a back seat to the care you provide for others, but your well-being is just as important as that of your loved ones. Remember that you need to take care of yourself to be able to take the best possible care of your loved one.
