Enteral feeding tubes are commonly used across many healthcare settings. As a result, it is useful for healthcare providers to be familiar with the use and care of feeding tubes. This course will discuss how to prevent misconnections and how to properly administer formula and medications.

After completing this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Describe precautions to take when administering formula using enteral feeding tubes
  • Describe and utilize the three different methods of administering feeding-tube formula
  • Explain the four ways to verify tube placement
