Joining in the Fight Against Cancer

Shield HealthCare is a proud supporter of the Santa Clarita Valley (SCV) Relay for Life. As a 2016 Bronze Sponsor, Shield HealthCare is once again joining the American Cancer’s Society’s largest and most successful fundraising event to end cancer. The SCV Relay for Life takes place this year on the weekend of May 21st and is one of the largest Relay for Life events in the world! A team of Shield HealthCare’s employees will be participating in a Relay team to show their support for the cure, honor loved ones lost and support those who are battling cancer in our circles of family and friends.

What is Relay for Life?

The Relay for Life is a community event where teams, families and individuals walk around a track or path for up to 24 hours, signifying the 24-hour-a-day battle with cancer. The track itself is lined with Relay teams who have set up creative tents for fundraising around the clock. Throughout the event, there are games, contests, good eats, music & fun for all. All activities raise money to fund cancer research, treatment, prevention and programs through the American Cancer Society.

During the Saturday evening Luminaria Ceremony, the Relay community reflects on their mission and personal reason for supporting the Relay for Life. The silent lap of reflection is lined by the candle-lit Luminaria bags representing those affected by cancer and honoring those still fighting. Special guest speakers also share their heartfelt stories on the main stage.

Employees at Shield HealthCare are passionate about their participation in the SCV Relay for Life because we share one common goal: celebrating, remembering and fighting for a cure.

Come join us as we support the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer.
