Transform hum-drum meals by intensifying the flavors of healthy foods. Flavorful food can be yours by incorporating herbs, spices, vinegars, fruit juices or peels, and using cooking techniques that enhance natural flavors will wake up any meal!

  • Grill, broil or pan-sear meat, poultry and fish to take the taste up a notch.
  • Carmelize onions by sautéing them slowly over low heat with a small amount of oil to bring out their natural sweetness.
  • Add a splash of balsamic, rice or other vinegars to sauces.
  • Use horseradish, flavored mustard, chutney, wasabi, tapenade or salsas to give a burst of flavor to meats or veggies.
  • Incorporate bold flavors with pomegranate seeds, fresh ginger, dried peppers or cilantro.
  • Experiment with whole grains, like amaranth, Kamut® or quinoa and toasted nuts or seeds for fuller flavors.
  • Grill or roast veggies at 425 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit for a sweet, smoky flavor. Brush lightly with oil before cooking to keep them moist.
