Meet Laura Cox and listen to her speak about her life before her ostomy surgery, her diagnosis of ulcerative colitis, her symptoms and the issues she experienced, and when she decided that surgery was the option for her.
Laura also speaks of her recovery from surgery (including one of the most helpful things a nurse has ever said to her: “Recovery is not linear: it doesn’t just go up and up. Some days are harder than others.”), how she was able to improve her quality of life once she was recovered, and gives tips about how to live a healthy and full life after ostomy surgery.
Lastly, Laura speaks to her roll as our Ostomy Lifestyle Specialist and what that entails.
