From stomal complications to skin care, Joy Hooper covers the most common clinical and lifestyle concerns with an ostomy. Moderated by Laura Cox, Shield HealthCare’s Ostomy Lifestyle Specialist.

Upon completion of this presentation participants will be able to:

  • Choose ostomy products that can help provide longer pouch wear time
  • Identify individuals that can benefit from colostomy irrigation
  • Identify ostomy resources for your patient post-discharge

About Joy Hooper, RN, BSN, CWOCN, OMS, WCC of the Wound Care Education Institute

As an RN with over 20 years of wound and ostomy care experience, Joy has practiced in a variety of hospital and home care settings. She is a successful nurse entrepreneur, and is board certified by the WOCN as a CWOCN, and by the NAWCO® as a WCC and OMS. Her informal and down-to-earth teaching methods enable students to learn easily in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Joy is also the lead instructor of WCEI’s ostomy courses.

Dear Laura, I wear a two piece ostomy bag. I need help with concealing an ostomy bag. When I move around my shirt hikes up and the tip of the bag peeks out from under my shirt.
