In this ninth video in our series about getting around in a wheelchair in different metropolitan areas, you’ll find Aaron using a wheelchair in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and exploring the public transportation scene. Aaron Baker is a spinal cord injury survivor for over 19 years and he wants to help others get out and explore! Aaron’s hope is that by making these videos, other individuals with mobility issues will see how easy or difficult the different cities he visits may be for them.

In this video from Shield HealthCare’s Spinal Cord Injury Lifestyle Specialist, watch Aaron explore Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Aaron begins by heading to the Independence Mall, by subway (which proves a little confusing). Once at the historic site, he sees the Liberty Bell and learns about how accessible the area is. Then it’s onto a bus to get some cheesesteak, before heading to The Philadelphia Museum of Art, where he searches for an accessible way to get to the top of the “Rocky Steps.” At the end of the day, Aaron heads to the 30th Street Station to head to his next Mobility in the City destination: Washington D.C.

This video focuses on Aaron using a wheelchair in Philadelphia, but we want to know: where should he head to next? Let us know in the comments!
