Wound care, assessment, and documentation is more than just looking at the lesion. It is a holistic approach to care that identifies systemic, psychosocial, and local factors that may precipitate a wound or impede its healing.

Learning Objectives

After completing this free online course, you should be able to:

  • Describe the importance of performing a medical and psychosocial history, and be able to do so.
  • Perform a complete physical exam of a patient with a wound.
  • Perform a complete wound evaluation, including an assessment of the wound base and surrounding tissues.
  • Assess and monitor wound complications.

All healthcare professionals who come into contact with patients that may have acute or chronic wounds, including:

Upon completion you have the option to take the course post-test. A score of 80% or higher will qualify you for your certificate of completion which you can print for your records.
