The New ENFit Enteral Connectors for Feeding Tubes and More

By now, you have likely heard about the new ENFit Enteral Connectors and the revised timeline released by the Global Enteral Device Supplier Association (GEDSA). The GROW community wants to make sure that all parents of tube-fed children are aware of the changes that are on their way.

Here are the changes that have already taken place this year:

Lastly, a note about compliance for the entral connectors inside California:

Commencing July 1, 2016, a health facility, as defined in subdivision (a), (b), (c), or (f) of Section 1250, is prohibited from using an enteral feeding connector that would fit into a connector other than the type it was intended for, unless an emergency or urgent situation exists and the prohibition would impair the ability to provide health care.
