Shield HealthCare Announces National Caregiver Contest

Valencia, CA, November 1, 2017 – Shield HealthCare, a leading provider of home-delivered medical supplies is celebrating its 16th Caregiver Contest, asking “What advice would you give a fellow caregiver?”

In this 16th anniversary year for the contest, Shield HealthCare announces the new contest format, this year soliciting caregiver advice. With more than 3,500 caregiver contributions over the years, this year’s contest “What advice would you give a fellow caregiver?” provides a supportive forum for caregivers – both paid and unpaid, professional and family – to share a glimpse into their lives as well as the insights they have gained during their daily efforts.

The top three winners of Shield’s caregiver advice contest will each receive a $500 American Express Gift Card and a one-year subscription to Today’s Caregiver Magazine. Five runners-up will also receive the magazine subscription and a $150 American Express Gift Card. Shield will publish advice that caregivers share on Shield’s community site, a widely-visited educational resource for caregivers, patients, and healthcare professionals. Since the contest’s inception in 2001, nearly 100 caregivers from around the nation have been recognized by Shield HealthCare for their outstanding efforts. Grand Prize Story Contest Winner 2015 Kathy S. wrote: “Although caregiving can be exhausting, it has many facets and opportunities that make it rewarding. Where love abides, that love becomes cherished and gives a reason to live.”
