  1. Your video is great. I learned so much, but the thing I needed to know, you didn’t go into detail about. How to set up the intermittent mode. I have a new baby with feeding tube and the DR. wants him on 3 hours of feeding and 1 hour off at night. I tried to get the operating manual but error:illegal characters in path comes up. Pleas send info on setting intermittent feed up.

    1. Hi Barbara. We checked in with one of our registered dietitians, and here is her response: “It sounds like you might be needing to take the pump off ‘EZ Mode,’ which can be kind of confusing. Here is a link to the Covidien Kangaroo Pump user manual as a PDF. It’s explained on page 12 how to get it off ‘EZ mode’ and have the option for the ‘intermittent/continuous mode’. Hope that helps some! -Stephani”

    1. Hi Kim. Thanks for your question. Here is what the manual says: ““Press BUZZER in the MORE OPTIONS menu to access the BUZZER screen and increase or decrease the alarm buzzer volume. The alarm will be audible as the volume setting is changed. This sets the volume level for any warning or error that may occur with the pump. Critical errors of System Error and Pump Set Dislodged will always use the maximum volume setting” page 19 We hope that helps. -Aimee, Shield HealthCare

    1. Hi Faye! Thank you for your comment. We’re glad you found the video helpful. We emailed with one of our Registered Dietitians about your question. She wrote back: “The feed and flush sets look pretty much the same as the single Joey feeding sets, albeit with 2 bags and 1 common tube that attaches to the pump. There is just 1 tube to insert as with the single set. With the feed & flush bags, they will simply fill and hang the flush bag adjacent to the feeding bag and prime as they normally would. The water primes separate from the formula. The flush will be programmed separately and delivered intermittently by the pump as specified by the feed regimen.” In addition, this video is pretty good in terms of explaining how to set up a feed and flush on the Joey: https://youtu.be/SZBL6fLaHOw We hope you find that explanation and video helpful. Best of luck! -Aimee, Shield HealthCare

      3. Press the > next to “Biotech Options”
      4. Press the > next to “EZ Pump Mode” (EZ Mode is on when there is a checkmark next to it)
      5. Press the > next to “Done”

Also the Covidien Kangaroo Pump user manual as a PDF is online here.
