National Nutrition Month

National Nutrition Month

Since 1980 the Academy of Nutrition of Dietetics (AND) has celebrated Nutrition for the entire month of March. This month is used to highlight the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and consistent physical activity.

The focus of this year’s National Nutrition Month is: “To increase the public’s awareness of the importance of good nutrition and position registered dietitian nutritionists as the authorities in nutrition.” Kick-start your new healthy lifestyle this month with help from AND:

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day

Also celebrated this month is Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN or RD) Day to increase awareness of the profession. Thus, on the second Wednesday of every March RDNs are recognized as paramount members of the a medical team as food and nutrition experts.
