Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA)

Established in 1946, the Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) represents more than 1,000 assisted living communities, home care and hospice service providers, providers of care and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD), and skilled nursing care facilities.

Ohio Hospital Association (OHA)

Established in 1915, OHA is the nation’s first state-level hospital association, representing 245 hospitals and 15 health systems. Its mission is to collaborate with member hospitals and health systems to ensure a healthy Ohio.

Ohio Association of Health Plans (OAHP)

The Ohio Association of Health Plans is a statewide association of hospitals. It works with legislators, providers, nonprofits and other partners to improve the health of Ohioans through access to quality, affordable care.

Ohio State Chapter: Home Care Association of America (HCAOA)

The Home Care Association of America (HCAOA) represents home care agencies and their suppliers across the country. This association advocates to ensure caregivers have safe and secure environments in which to work, promotes the advancement of home care, and speaks to concerns within the industry.

Ohio Council for Home Care & Hospice (OCHCH)

Founded in 1965 by a small number of home care agencies, the Ohio Council for Home Care & Hospice (OCHCH) is a non-profit association that advocates for the Ohio home health and hospice industries and the individuals and families it serves.

Ohio Department of Aging

The Department of Aging administers programs and services to meet the needs of older Ohioans. These programs are funded by the federal Older Americans Act, Medicaid, and other sources. The Ohio Department of Medicaid contracts with them to administer certain Medicaid programs; and most programs and services are coordinated locally by contracted area agencies on aging.

Ohio Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs)

Ohio’s Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) support the needs of older adults, through education and through coordinating home and community-based long-term care. Ohio has 12 AAAs that cumulatively represent all 88 counties. Ohio AAAs are designated by the Ohio Department of Aging.  Sometimes they are referred to as PSAs, or Planning and Service Areas.
